WE PRESENT

Senja

Norway’s second-largest island is often referred to as miniature Norway due to the diverse nature that is reminiscent of most untouched areas in Norway with both inland, highlands, fjords, archipelagos, and mountain ranges.

SENJA

In folklore, on the other hand, the island is referred to as the fairytale island. From old legends, one can hear about the Senja troll who until a few years ago could be visited on the island. Unfortunately, the troll has left the island, but the fairytale island itself still captivates visitors from all over the world with its beautiful nature and magical charm. And new fairy tales are created all year round by adventurous locals and guests.

Charming small places are located row after row on the outside of Senja, only separated by a fjord or a thousand meters high mountain.

In the Winter, the sea’s delicacies abound just outside the quayside, the northern lights dance across the sky, and especially ski enthusiasts flock to drive untouched snow from the mountain tops and down into the spring rocks.

During the Summer, the midnight sun lights up the entire coast, and beautiful sandy beaches are sandwiched in fjords surrounded by jagged mountain ranges that stretch out to sea. The idyllic nature can be enjoyed from a car, bicycle seat, kayak, boat, mountain top, or whatever you want while moving between accommodations such as small hotels, piers, cabins, or sea houses.
